Happy Holidays

Yeh, I know, just say Merry Christmas. I agree. Been over a year since my last blog post. Just reread it. Yup, I've been properly lubed. Brandy slush this time. Still no puff corn. Gave em of up in favor of fitting into skinny jeans. More on my diet later.
So, Dad died, Mom is doing well, keeping the farm, I'm still a farmer. Mom is doing more and planning to retire to the old homestead.
I have, this year, revealed the secret cook within me. Just compleated Thanksgiving diner for 5 (all remaining parents), solo. Turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, squash, rutibaga, and homemade gravy. All completed with proper timing after the Packer game. Compliments all around. It was better than doing the cleanup. Even managed a good prayer. Kind of winged it as I had thought about it earlier in the morning, but, Packer game caused some brandy slush to be made, and consumed, by mosty me, it got some muddling of a new social bit of wisdom thrown in. More on that later too.
So, today we are preparing for Christmas. Got the Frasier, strung the lights outside, wrapped the lights inside on all appropriate structures. Started on the brandy slush. Wife has the rest of the ornaments hung time, for the Angel... Diner of yesterdays leftovers, bottle of wine, desert and hot chocolate (with Baileys) all with background Christmas music. Uff da. It's Christmas time.
So, I have a new diet. Gotta be the easiest one I've ever tried. Low Carb ancestral paleo type. Bacon, eggs, steak, vegetables, meat, butter ext. Just skip the carbs, sugar and grains. Miss the bread and doughnuts, but I don't have to deal with the hunger pains. I feel great, have a clear head and energy. I have had to get new jeans as the old ones are falling off my ass. Haven't fit in Levis in years. The 32's are even loose, but couldn't find 34 length in 30s. Basically, if a caveman could have killed it or gathered it, it's fair 'game'. Makes alot of logical sense, plus it includes regular infusions of Bacon.
Came across an interesting concept listening to a TED lecture the other day. No one knows how to make anything anymore. Our trade structure involves so many people to create goods, it takes many people to create anything. Think about how many people are involved in even the simplest product. Stone age man got his own food, stone for his tools and the skill to make them. No one can even claim to gather our own food any more, muchless the ability to gather raw materials for steel or plastic to create a product. We are all interdependant on each other for modern society. So what's that say for your idiot neighbor? Guess some are more dependant than others. Still can't make sense of some people's purpose. I need more brandy....
Wife has decided it's time for 'Miracle On 34th Street'.
73 and Merry Christmas
