Fiberglass mast

Last winter for the NWS Skywarn Recognition Day, Greg KC0IKU (now W9IKU) had some fiberglass mast that we used to put up a W5GI Mystery Antenna. I was impressed enough with the mast that I got on Ebay ASAP and got some for myself. I thought it would be nice to have a halyard type setup to raise and lower an antenna once we have the mast up for Field Day, without having to take the whole thing down again. I have some closet rod offal at work that sits in the top end of the mast just right, so I got an eye-bolt and a S-biner and this is what I have:

It looks like it will work.
Your contraption looks like it will work. Now if we can figure out how to strengthen the joints for bitter cold without compromising the weight of the mast, we'll be on to something.
I look forward to Field Day!
