Code 10 award for making 10 CW contacts

The North Fulton ARL (www.nfarl.org ) is proud to
offer the Code 10 award for making 10 CW contacts. This award is to
encourage folks who have never operated CW to make CW contacts. It is
an outgrowth of our CW SIG (Special Interest Group) in our club. We
have had 6 club members qualify but now we will open this to the world -
people who at the beginning of 2009, did not know code! Award recipient
#1 - KJ4HYG - learned code in JAN and has made over 300 contacts on CW
including on several contests. Most using his HW-16 and crystals. He
hopes to be up to 20 wpm by FD - and I'll bet he will. He's 13 years old!

The info is explained on this page: http://nfarl.org/sigCW/code10.html

As mentioned, this award is for those "starting from scratch" plus those
who learned CW years ago to pass a test but never used it to make
contacts. So all you SKCCers, tell your buddies and after they learn
the code, make 10 contacts and earn their Code 10 award.

Also, we have a net each Wednesday at 8:30 PM EDT (0030Z) on 7117 khz
for those who would like to listen or work our CW SIG folks. We also do
code practice on our local repeater in Roswell, GA - 145.47. Of course,
you'd have to hit that via echolink at node 381631 at 8PM EDT (0000Z) on
MON, WED, FRI evenings.

Join us!
